Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are thin slices of porcelain. They are made to fit on the front of your teeth and usually cover the sides between and come slightly over the edge of the tooth. The difference here from crowns is that the back of the tooth is not covered. You may think about having veneers if your teeth are unsightly and discoloured or if you wish to cover worn or cracked teeth. They can also be used to improve spacing problems such as gaps or crowding. However, not all patients are suitable for veneers, such as heavy grinders, patients with excessively misaligned teeth and those with teeth where the back of the tooth is heavily restored. Dr. Patel and Dr. Wilcynski can advise patients if they are suitable for these procedures.
